| The stages of the design relationship
consist of a formulation of your goal for the project, an assessment
of your overall needs, the existing site and creation of a budget.
Options and a proposal are presented.
Two types of arrangements/or a combination
At this point the client makes a decision to work with Jana on a
consultation basis where tasks are allotted time and charged per
hour. For example: comparative shopping for specific items, obtaining
contractor bids, developing sketches or more formal drawings.
The more conventional route is where Green Chandelier carries out
the bulk of the tasks necessary to complete the project and charges
a percentage of purchases costs.
All costs and decisions are openly discussed. A contract of terms
is used at all times for clarity of costs and services provided.
(available upon request) The contract outlines deposits required
for purchases and other criteria to which both client and designer
agree. There is a collaborative nature to all work. In most projects
there is usually a mix of consultation and purchase fees.
